ACSA is the implementing unit of the sub-component “Drought Adaptation Advisory Services” which together with Drought Adaptation Financial Services make up the component “Drought Adaptation Services” of the RISP II. The main project goal is to promote and raise awareness of various drought mitigation measures among local agricultural producers. The project specific objectives are:
- Increase the understanding and practical abilities of farmers as well as their awareness about the drought mitigation measures;
- Promote the concept of community involvement in drought mitigation activities;
- Promote the credit line destined for investments in rehabilitation and/or development of small scale on-farm irrigation systems;
- Improve the knowledge and abilities of rural advisors in the field of drought mitigation measures.
The project goal and objectives will be reached through delivering a large scale information and awareness campaign, workshops, training programs, round tables and conferences, specialized advisory services, demonstration plots, information materials and mass-media promotion activities.
