On August 12, 2010 a Financing Agreement on the implementation of Disaster and Climate Risk Management Project (DCRMP) was signed between the Government of Republic of Moldova and International Development Association. The implementation of Disaster and Climate Risk Management Project in Moldova comprises four components: (a) strengthen severe weather forecasting; (b) improve disaster preparedness and emergency response; (c) initiate activities for adaptation to climate risks in agriculture and (d) support project management. The implementation of C component of this project is provided by National Agency for Rural Development (ACSA) and Service Providers of Republic of Moldova Rural Extension Service.

Thus, in order to increase the degree of awareness regarding the measures and techniques used to mitigate the adverse climate effects and within the implementation activities of the mentioned project, on June 17, 2013, in Cozesti village from Singerei rayon, the seminar named "Antihail net system combined with drip irrigation system as measures to mitigate hail and drought in orchards" was held. The theoretical and practical part of the seminar included presentations on measures and techniques used to mitigate targeted climate risks, particularly hail and drought and was held in the intensive apple orchard of the project beneficiary "Cebacot Agro" LLC from Cozesti village, where those over 60 participants to the seminar were familiarized with anti-hail net system and drip irrigation system implemented in the apple orchard of the beneficiary.

"Cebacot Agro" LLC is DCRMP C.2 sub-component "Adverse Weather Adaptation Advisory Services" beneficiary. The implemented demonstrative plot has a surface of 12 ha, targeting the installation and use of antihail net, as measure to mitigate hail in multiannual plantations and was established due to the funding received from the financial resources project and from the contribution of the beneficiary.
