On 5 June 2010, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Dacian Ciolos, paid a visit to the beneficiary (peasant farm “Ambrosi Ion”) of the ACSA regional rural advisory centre from Telenesti district. He was also accompanied by the Moldovan Minister and Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry, Mr. Valeriu Cosarciuc and Vasile Bumacov, the chairman of the district administration Mr. Boris Burca, ACSA research and information coordinator Mr. Anatol Fala and ACSA regional coordinator Mr. Petru Stanila.
The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize the delegation members with the current situation of agricultural sector in Moldova, specifically of the small and medium scale agricultural producers, as well as the role of Moldovan rural advisory service in developing the rural areas.
The delegation members got acquainted with the advisory services provided by ACSA in district Telenesti and the production site of ACSA beneficiary Mr. Ion Ambrosi. The commissioner has reiterated the importance of investments made in training and informing agricultural producers with the purpose to increase the quality of agricultural products for exports to European Union.
