According to the project implementation plan, ACSA experts developed 7 training modules which have been delivered to beneficiaries of demonstration plots and rural advisors. The training program was mostly focused on presentation of various drought mitigation measures in comparison with the traditional production methods. Additionally, the program is intended to improve knowledge and abilities in budget planning and forecast, suitable agricultural machines and tools, various types of low energy consumption and low pressure small scale irrigation systems, etc.
ACSA has organized and carried out a 3-days training for trainers program (ToT) on drought mitigation measures for its regional advisors. The purpose of this training program was to improve the capacities and knowledge of 35 regional advisors responsible for the field work as to ensure a successful implementation of the project. In addition, ACSA has delivered a workshop on “Agro technical drought mitigation measures” and organized a field visit to the experimental plots of the Research Institute for Field Crops, “Selectia” from Balti. Later, the regional rural advisors have conducted similar training/information events for local rural advisors.
The direct beneficiaries of demonstration plots established under this project have been also provided training and information materials on drought mitigation measures.
